Hosting A Performance
Hosting a TOPS IN BLUE performance can be a very rewarding experience.
A high-energy music extravaganza of this caliber normally requires
a large amount of logistic and financial support from the hosting
organization.
Over 50 years of touring experience has streamlined the TOPS
IN BLUE hosting requirements to a minimum. Basically, TOPS IN
BLUE is self-contained and can perform in any type venue or on
a blank open field. The team provides their own sound, lighting,
and loading crews. The stage sets are designed to be adaptable
for any show performance. A low-noise whisper generator, provided
by TOPS IN BLUE, supplies all power needs for the show, thereby
giving the host unlimited flexibility in selecting the performance
location.
TOPS IN BLUE has performed in a large variety of show locations,
including high schools, civic centers, sports fields, hangars,
theatres, fest tents, performing arts centers and gymnasiums.
The basic requirement in determining a show location is to maximize
audience attendance. The optimum performance site would have a
raised stage 24' deep, 40' wide with 20' between the top of the
stage and the ceiling. This allows the team to present a show
with maximum impact using all lighting and special effects.
Costs
The host has the responsibility
for any costs involved in obtaining an appropriate performance
venue and lodging for approximately 30 team members for a minimum
of one night. If the team is unable, due to distance, to travel
and perform on the same day, an additional night of lodging will
be required. Basic advertising materials are provided, but additional
advertising may be desired to help promote the event. In most
cases, these costs can be offset when working with local officials
and corporate sponsors.
