ENTERTAINER APPLICATIONS
STEP 1: Audition Video the Applicant Performing:
The audition video must be a solo performance by the applicant as if performing in front of`an audience. Showmanship, enthusiasm, appearance of confidence, etc., are all part of the selection process. Musical accompaniment or background music may be live or prerecorded. Professional quality instrumental tapes and CDs without vocals are now legally available from numerous sources for accompaniment. Contact the Air Force Entertainment Office for assistance if sources are not locally available.
The applicant's audition video may display multiple talents and styles of music. However, each presentation must be limited to 5 minutes in duration for each music style or talent presented. Professional quality video productions are not required; however, sufficient lighting and the quality of the audio are important to adequately judge the act. Although video of an actual base-level competition will meet this requirement, we highly recommend you be taped separately from the base-level talent contest to ensure the highest quality video under controlled circumstances.
Each video act should include some form of introduction, to include:
• Applicant's full name and rank • Applicant's base • Material to be performed
When mailing a video, in lieu of uploading one online, please ensure each DVD or video tape has a label attached with the following information:
• Contestant's full name and rank • Organization and base • DSN duty phone number
STEP 2: TOPS IN BLUE Entertainer Application
Accuracy is essential in completing this form. Questions left blank may eliminate applicant's from being selected for the competition. Applicant's should list everything pertaining to experience, training, or technical knowledge. However, applicant's should be assured that all capabilities listed will be tested during processing at the Worldwide Talent Contest. Remember applications may be completed online, downloaded (PDF) or (MS Word) and mailed in or emailed to Air Force Entertainment.
